First...symbiosis...is close and often long-term interactions between different biological species. In 1877 Bennett used the word symbiosis (which previously had been used of people living together in community) to describe the mutualistic relationship in lichens. In 1879 defined it as "the living together of unlike organisms."
There are 3 main types of symbiotic relationships:
Mutualism
which is when the two animals are getting benefits from their relationship, like in this image, the clownfish and the anemonae are both getting benefits, the clownfish gets protection, and the anemonae gets nutrients and other stuff.
